Get Involved: There is No Greater Gift than Giving of Yourself

Two Rivers Hosts 2019 Walk for the Fallen & Boots Memorial

Almost 100 people participated August 24, 2019 in the Walk for the Fallen in Neshota Park.  Being There Reaching Out and Wisconsin Families of the Fallen hold a walk each year to recognize the family members in Wisconsin who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the freedom of this country.  The walk moves around Wisconsin and was held in Two Rivers this year in honor of SPC Shaun Novak, the Two Rivers native lost to an IED in Taji Iraq in 2006.  Greg Buckley, Two Rivers City Administrator, welcomed the group to kick off the event.

In Central Park, almost 400 boots were displayed representing those lives lost from  Wisconsin in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  These were set up, monitored and carefully taken down by over 30 volunteers from all walks of life.  A great example of service beyond self and community above individuals.
